In 2011, Midea and Carrier formed a joint venture for the manufacture and distribution of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) products in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. Midea owns 51% of the joint venture and Carrier owns 49%. Recently, Midea took the joint venture a step further by putting a new factory into operation.
