AHRI to Host Conference to Present Low-GWP Refrigerant Research Results

Arlington, VA -- The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) today announced that it will host a conference on the AHRI Low-GWP Alternative Refrigerants Evaluation Program (AREP) on January 16, 2014, in New York City. The single-day conference will take place at the New York Hilton Midtown, 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York City, one day before the ASHRAE Winter Conference, which will take place at the same hotel. Trane First with 1233zd Centrifugal Chiller
Air conditioner manufacturers are working to quickly meet the revised EU F-gas Regulation. At the end of June, long-time centrifugal chiller manufacturer Trane (Ingersoll Rand) announced in France the launch of the Series E CenTraVac centrifugal chiller, which adopts next-generation refrigerant HFO-1233zd(E). This is the fi rst commercialized chiller in the world to adopt the new refrigerant.
