2. World Heat Pumps Market--2.1 Europe
2015 European ATW heat pump market growth did not meet expectations overall, with year-on-year growth of some percent and total sales on the scale of 244,000 units. Of this, France takes 76,100 units, Germany 33,000 units, and the United Kingdom more than 19,000 units. Following them, Italy is the fourth-largest market and its demand is expected to grow.
The drop in oil prices has hindered ATW demand growth and weakened motivation to invest in heat pumps and other forms of renewable energy while the ATW heating sector is gradually building recognition.
However, the 2016 market is set to see growth, mainly from new homes, with optimistic estimates around 10%.
New home demand continues to boost growth in the European ATW market. The low price of oil has slackened demand for heat pumps in general, but ATW demand from new buildings was slightly under 10%.
