The French air conditioner market is influenced by a number of factors, including the number of new homes and commercial premises built or renovated, energy efficiency regulations, environmental aspects encompassing the use of low-Global Waming Potential (GWP) refrigerants, climatic conditions, and the price. Esthetic models appeal to French consumers, and low-noise models are sought after.
According to Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth forecast of 1.4% in 2016, the country’s economy is improving gradually. The increasing trend in the building sector continued in 2016, spurred by low-interest loans, and exerted a positive influence on the renovation market. With 130,000 homes sold, construction of new single-family homes is estimated at about 13% growth in 2016 compared with 2015. This trend particularly striked in Brittany, Normandy, and the Centre Val de Loire regions.
