The U.S. VRF market amounted to 36,000 units in 2016, indicating a 9.1% growth rate.
 
Since the first quarter of 2017, the U.S. economy has been gradually expanding. With more construction projects and higher personal consumption, the VRF market is expected to continue to expand in 2017.
 
Challenges and Opportunities for VRFs
 
The United States is a big heating market. Most areas of the country experience severe winters, with the exception of southern areas such as Florida. In order to ensure comfort during cold winters, most U.S. consumers rely on gas furnace heating, and in summer, they use unitary systems for cooling. Against this background, unitary systems are taking root in the U.S. air conditioning market. Even though heat pumps have achieved tremendous progress in terms of heating performance, it is still difficult to change the consumers’ mindsets.
