Summer temperatures in the United Kingdom are steadily increasing and this is causing a rise in related death rates. The present level of 2,000 per year is expected to increase to more than 3,000 by the 2020s and 12,500 by the 2080s - according to a study by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
