7.1 Scroll Compressors

For more than 35 years since their initial commercialization, scroll compressors have been widely used as the core part of air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) products such as residential and commercial air conditioners, automobile air conditioners, chillers, and refrigeration systems, greatly contributing to the downsizing of AC&R products as well as to energy savings. In addition, scroll-type technology has been adopted for air compressors, helium compressors, and vacuum pumps, and also compressors for CO2 heat pump water heaters.
