Although compressors for heat pumps fell from an 8% growth rate in 2018 to 2 to 3% in 2019, models for air-to-water (ATW) heat pumps and inverter models showed a strong performance. Concerning the outlook for 2020, strong market growth of heat pump compressors is expected, driven by the European Union (EU) targets for use of energy efficient and renewable energy systems, and reduction of CO2 emissions.
