China’s AC Retail Sales Fall by 45% in Q1 of 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic hit China’s air conditioning industry unexpectedly and severely. In the first quarter of 2020, sales within the entire home appliance industry plummeted. All exhibitions have been postponed or cancelled: the Appliances and Electronics World Expo (AWE) was canceled, the China Refrigeration Exhibition (CRH) postponed, and the Canton Fair will be held online. The air conditioning market has suffered a severe downturn.
