Uncertain Resolution of Semiconductor Shortage — AC Industry also Suffers
The semiconductor shortage that spread globally in 2021 due to the influence of the pandemic has not yet shown signs of being resolved in 2022. There is a view within the semiconductor industry that the shortage is not expected to be resolved by the end of this year. In the northern hemisphere, which is about to enter the cooling season, and the southern hemisphere, which is entering the heating season, there is a possibility that air conditioners and heat pumps will suffer supply cuts due to the shortage of semiconductors.
