Japanese White Goods Market for FY 2021 Shrinks by 4.2%

On March 17, 2022, the Japan Electrical Manufacturers’ Association (JEMA) announced estimated shipments of electrical appliances for the fiscal year (FY) 2021 (ending March 2022) and the outlook for shipments of the same for FY 2022 (ending March 2023).
Domestic shipments of white goods for FY 2021 are estimated at ¥2,506.2 billion (about US$ 20.65 billion), a drop of 4.2% year on year. They are forecast to be slightly down from the previous year but to remain at high levels.
