AHRI Releases December 2023 U.S. Heating and Cooling Equipment Shipment Data

U.S. shipments of residential gas storage water heaters for December 2023 decreased 1.9 percent, to 363,253 units, down from 370,394 units shipped in December 2022. Residential electric storage water heater shipments increased 4.7 percent in December 2023 to 423,576 units, up from 404,726 units shipped in December 2022.
 
Year-to-date U.S. shipments of residential gas storage water heaters increased 3.9 percent, to 4,292,062, compared to 4,131,205 shipped during that same period in 2022. Residential electric storage water heater shipments increased 7.4 percent year-to-date, to 4,905,071 units, compared to 4,567,484 shipped during the same period in 2022.
