1. Recent Technical Trends in the Air Conditioner Field
While AI existed in the past, its potential is now being put into place, working together with the development of arithmetic elements and cloud technology through IoT. In the field of air conditioning, these technologies are also beginning to be adopted, and are bringing about positive changes. Japanese air conditioner manufacturers have successively launched new room air conditioner (RAC) models for 2019 utilizing AI and IoT technologies.

2. JCI Highlights Sabroe High-efficiency Products
At Chillventa held in October 2018, Johnson Controls showcased new Sabroe brand products such as SMC Mk 5 reciprocating compressor, the SAB 273 high pressure screw compressor, and the ChillPAC 112 water-cooled chiller. Armed with these high-energy efficiency products, the company achieved positive results in 2018 and expects even better results in 2019.

3. Refcold India Makes Impressive Debut
The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) has been organizing its annual expo ACREX India for 28 years, with participation by heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) and cold chain industries. There has been a feeling that the refrigeration and cold chain sector needs more focus, and the sector’s exclusive annual expo Refcold India was launched on November 22, 2018 at Gandhinagar in Gujarat State. With over 100 booths and almost 10,000 visitors, it turned out to be India’s largest ever refrigeration and cold chain sector expo.

4. China’s Cold Storage Capacity to Exceed 53 Million Tons in 2018
In recent years, the number of cold storage facilities in China has increased. According to statistics, China’s cold storage capacity exceeded 48 million tons in 2017 and is estimated to exceed 53 million tons in 2018.
Online shopping, fresh e-commerce, and fruit and vegetable home delivery are all popular choices in the current consumer market. Benefiting from the growth of such consumption, the domestic cold chain logistics market has developed rapidly. It is estimated that the size of China’s cold chain logistics market will reach nearly US$ 4.8 trillion in 2018. By 2020, the market will reach almost US$ 7.6 trillion.

5. Fujitsu General Acquires Precise Air Group
On December 12, Fujitsu General completed the acquisition of Precise Air Group (PAG). PAG is one of Australia’s leading national providers of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), fire and bundled mechanical, fire, electrical and plumbing (MFEP) maintenance services. This acquisition allows Fujitsu General to enter a new business area of service and maintenance in Australia, particularly in the commercial sector.
