1. The Indian compressor market in 2021
The Indian market for compressors showed a robust growth of 20% in 2021, in line with the market revival of air conditioners, air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) projects – especially data center cooling, process chillers and cold storage segments, and refrigerators and commercial refrigeration products. The maximum growth came from hermetic reciprocating compressors, followed by hermetic scroll and hermetic rotary compressors, mirroring the growth in air conditioner, refrigerator, and commercial refrigeration markets.

2. The Chinese compressor market in 2021
The Chinese compressor market achieved a full recovery in 2021, mainly thanks to continuous orders from domestic and overseas markets. Compared with 2020, the sales volumes of all types of compressors achieved positive growth in 2021. Meanwhile, the continuous price rises of core materials such as copper, aluminum, and steel, placed a great deal of pressure on compressor manufacturers and markedly increased compressor production costs.

3. The European refrigeration compressor market in 2021
The European refrigeration compressor market in 2021 was very good. The issues raised by the pandemic were well resolved in 2021, but this challenge is ongoing in 2022, especially concerning supply chain challenges.

4. PDM Analysis Announces Release of New Version v2022 of SCORG Software
SCORG is a design tool for screw compressors and expanders in HVAC&R and other applications. SCORG originates and is being continuously developed by experts from the Centre for Compressor Technology at City, University of London, in collaboration with PDM Analysis.
