1. JLL Expects Healthy Growth in India’s Data Center Industry
The rapid expansion of the data center industry will be one of the key drivers for the growth of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) market in the coming decade. The data center industry is expected to have closed the year 2022 with robust demand growth, with estimated absorption in the range of 150 to 170 MW. This growth can be attributed to the delivery of pre-committed supply to hyperscale cloud service providers, according to the year-ending assessment ‘The 2022 Story: Indian Real Estate’s Rise from the Lows’ from JLL, an Indian real estate services firm.

2. Outes Holds 2023 Heat Pump + Global Strategic Event in Zhejiang
On February 21, Outes Group held the 2023 Heat Pump Global Strategic Summit with the theme of ‘Heat Pump Air Conditioning, Ultimate Future’ in Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, China, the location of the group headquarters. Nearly 3,000 people including industry experts and scholars as well as Outes dealers and suppliers from all over the country attended this major event.

3. Gradient Secures US$ 18 M in Funding for Window-mounted Heat Pump
On February 10, Gradient announced that it had closed a Series A funding round of US$ 18 million from investors including Sustainable Future Ventures and Ajax Strategies. Gradient is a San Francisco-based heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) startup founded in 2017. Gradient released its first window-mounted heat pump in 2022, which is manufactured and assembled in California. The Gradient unit was named one of the Best Inventions of 2022 by Time magazine. Gradient was also awarded a US$ 24 million contract to install its units in low-income housing as part of the Clean Heat for All Challenge organized by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).

4. LG Launches Energy-efficient Multi V i with Cutting-edge AI Engine
On February 8, 2023, LG announced the launch of the new Multi V i, a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) solution equipped with the company’s highly evolved artificial intelligence (AI) engine, in key global markets starting with Europe. The Multi V i’s sophisticated AI engine enables AI Smart Care, which leverages spatial and situational learning to optimize operation; adjusting cooling or heating power according to several variables, including the number of people in the room, humidity levels, and the indoor and outside ambient temperatures. This enables the product to improve energy savings by up to 24.7%.

5. Tecumseh Features Efficient & Sustainable Cold Chain Solutions
At Chillventa 2022 held in Germany last October, Tecumseh, a global leader in the fields of compressors and condensing units based in the United States, featured its high-efficiency and sustainable cold chain solutions. JARN visited Tecumseh’s booth and interviewed Jay Pittas, chief executive officer (CEO) of the company, to hear about Tecumseh’s latest innovative solutions.
